The first burn
sets the rest
Coconut-soy wax has a memory. Burn to a full melt pool the first time and the candle will burn evenly to the bottom of the vessel.
One
Trim the wick
Cut the cotton wick to 1/4" before every burn. An untrimmed wick smokes and mushrooms.
Two
Burn to the edge
Let the first burn run two to three hours, until the wax melts to the full 2.75" diameter.
Three
Stop at four hours
Extinguish before four hours. Let the wax set fully before relighting, and keep the lid on between burns.
Four
Retire at 1/2"
Stop burning with 1/2" of wax left. Warm water releases the remainder and the glass keeps its use.
Safety
- Never leave a burning candle unattended.
- Keep away from children, pets, and anything that catches.
- Burn on a heat-resistant surface, away from draught.
- Do not burn with the wooden lid in place.
